There are many ways to make free money with no money. People automatically assume that in order to make money you need money to start with and that's just not true. There are tons of people, many here on Hubpages alone, who have found ways to make money with no money.

The reason most people don't look for ways to make free money with no money is because starting any kind of business has traditionally required start up capital or seed money.

Now with the advent of the Internet, many people have found that they can make a lot money online in front of their computers from the comfort of their own homes.  Some of course are making thousands of dollars a day. But many others are making enough income online to maintain a decent living. These people have found ways to make free money with no money and you can too.

This is the best and free-est of the ways to make free money with no money online. In order to start making money in this, you don't need to have much knowledge about technology, building websites, and stuff like that which most people don't know how to do.

It's simply getting paid to write, something most people know how to do. So here are some article writing websites where you can make money with no money.

Hubpages

You are currently reading an article on Hubpages. It's free to sign up for Hubpages and there are many people on here that are making decent income from it. It takes some time and work to build up but you can end up making some good money here.

There are several ways to make money on Hubpages, Google Adsense, Amazon and Ebay are the primary revenue streams.

Google Adsense - You make money from Google Adsense each time some views your article and every time someone clicks on a Google Adsense ad in your article. These ads automatically generate based on what you talk about in your article.

Every time someone is on your article it's called a page impression or page view. Each time this happens, Google pays a fraction of a penny. This may sound small but it adds up when you're getting 1000s of page impressions a day.

Every time someone clicks on an actual ad, Google will pay you as well. These are worth a lot more than the page impressions. The price Google will pay will fluctuate based on what keywords it's based on.

So what's in it for Hubpages? Well, they take 60% of your page impressions. Not a big deal because you'll be making most of your money from the clicks anyways, and Hubpages let's you keep 100% of those.

Amazon Affiliates Program - You can also make money by putting Amazon products on your articles. Hubpages makes this very easy to do. Every time someone clicks on a product and buys it from Amazon, they pay you a commission. Hubpages doesn't take any percentage of this commission.

Ebay - In short this program works pretty much like the Amazon Affiliates Program. From what people on Hubpages say, it seems to be trickier than the other affiliate programs to use so I'm staying away from it for now.

Associated Content is another one of the ways to make free money with no money. This company was founded by a former of VP at Google and that's why it's attracted so much popularity as well as venture capital.

You can make money from Associated Content in a couple of ways. They pay you per page view. They call it performance pay. It's similar to the page impression pay you get from Hubpages, except Associated Content sets the price based on your status with them.

When you start out, you will make $1.50 per 1000 page views. It doesn't seem like a lot, but it adds up. Plus you have the power of a former Google VP. You can pretty much bet that they'll do whatever they can to help you get page views.

One of the advantages to Associated Content page views is that depending on how long your article is, it can expand over 3-4 pages instead of it all being on one page. When you write a really long hub, it's all on one page, and you get one page view or page impression. If you write a really long article and people are engaged enough to read the whole thing, you may get 4-5 page views for one visit.

Also, my favorite part about Associated Content is that they also pay up front for articles. They have to be approved. Most of mine have been approved, it's not that hard. They pay anywhere from $2-4 per article. That's on top of the performance page view pay you will get after it is published.

I like Associated Content because they pay per article and you get the money right away. I guess it's a bit of impatience on my part, but it's nice to work a few articles and see the money in my Paypal account in the same week.

Blogging is the next step in ways to make free money with no money. People do spend money to do this, but you don't have to. It's a bit more complicated than using sites like Hubpages or Associated Content, but it could also earn you more money long term. Or it could just be another income stream for you on top of Associated Content and Hubpages.

The best free blogging service is blogger.com. Blogger is a company of Google, but don't think this is going to give you an advantage. Google is great at keeping their integrity as an objective search engine. However, this has also yielded some advantage, though it has nothing to do with search engine preferential treatment.

Because Blogger is owned by Google, they've made it very easy to ad Google Adsense ads into your blogs. Amazon Affiliate Program has also recently launched a widget for Blogger as well, making it all the more simple. Blogger is a great way to make money with no money.

Doing good keyword research is going to be vital for you to make free money with no money online. Google has a good Keyword Research Tool that can help you get started. This tool will tell you how many searches there were last month for any give keyword.

It will also give you an estimate CPC (cost per click). The CPC will give you an idea of how much money you can make when someone clicks on a Google Adsense ad for any particular keyword. The Google keyword research tool also shows you how much advertiser competition there is for that keyword.

To see the CPC go to the "Choose columns to display" drop down menu. Then click on "Show Estimated Avg. CPC".

There are a million strategies and opinions on how to do keyword research so let me just tell you how I do it. I generally use keywords that have at least 1,000 local searches per month. Any less than that, not enough people are looking for it to be worth the effort.

I also don't pick keywords that are less than $1 CPC. I try to keep it above $2 when I can. The only time I go below $1 is when I'm writing for fun and not to make money writing. You can waste your effort to make money with no money if you don't get decent money for your ad clicks.

The only other exception is when I write on a popular topic that many people will search for and there is low advertising competition. If that is the case, I will do it to make money on the page impressions and not the clicks per se.

To do some more research on competition, I just Google the keyword I'm looking at and see how many hits come up. If I get more than 2 million hits, then I generally stay away. Some people put quotes around the keyword to search for that exact keyword and it'll reduce the number of hits. I don't do that because most people don't search that way to begin with.

I also look at the page ranks of the hits that I get. If the page ranks for the pages on the first 2 pages are relatively low, say in the 0-3 range, then I consider it to be one of the good ways to make free money with no money.

To make free money with no money writing online, you must also know how to incorporate your keywords into your writing. The general consensus is that 2-6% of your article should be the keyword. There are software packages that you can buy to do this analysis automatically for you but I use Live Keyword Analysis which is free.

It can be time consuming to do a keyword analysis each time. You'll get the feel for putting incorporating your keywords as you go along and eventually you won't have to use these tools as much.

Also, your keywords should be in your title and your title should be no longer than 8 words long. In addition, use your keywords at least twice in the first paragraph of your article. I know, this may cut into your creative introductions that most writers love to do to get people's attention, but the trade off will be losing the attention of the search engines.

BackLinking

Backlinking is very important in order to not only drive traffic to your hubs, but to also gain pagerank from Google. If Google finds that a lot of high page ranking websites are linking to your hub, then it will rank your hub higher as well. Here are a few backlinking websites that can get you started:

Ezine Articles - This is an article directory that you must write quality content for. They don't pay for anything, but I've found that the articles I've written on Ezine gets tons of traffic. Because I can place 2 links on those articles, I have a good chance that people will click on that link to my hub.

But the more important thing is that Ezine gives you the opportunity to have a high pageranking article that links to your hub. That means Google will give your hub more value in the search ranking if a quality Ezine article is linked to your hub.

Xomba - Xomba is a quick and easy way to get a backlink up. You have two options for placing backlinks here, which are both quicker than on Ezines. You can read about it on the website.

Buzzle - is also an article directory website. It's similar to Ezine except it doesn't have as many restrictions when you write. But it does require at least 600 words per article. I have notice though that I get a lot of traffic on my Buzzle articles as well as higher pageranks. The only downside is the length of the article can kill all your time, but it might be worth it for the pagerank.

Digg.com - Digg is a bookmarking site. That means you place a link there and write a short description and you're done. It's probably the most popular bookmarking site out there. There is great debate out there in the SEO world whether bookmarking sites like Digg gives you good backlinks. It's up to you what you want to do.

Focus

Once you have several hubs up, I would track and see which ones do the best. This way you get a sense of your categories of writing that gets the most amount of traffic.  Finding ways to make free money takes trial and error and much experimentation.

Once you find the best ones, I suggest you zero in on 2-3 of your best ones and tweak it, sharpen it and do an intensive backlinking campaign for those hubs. Too many hubbers spend all their time writing tons of hubs, but no backlinking and they end up having hundreds of hubs that no one reads.

Just as a piece of advice to people new to ways of making free money online: if you can't find ways make money with no money online, then you shouldn't start investing money into it. Everyone has their own ways of making money online, and you need to find your way.

If you start putting in money to try to figure that out, you will lose a lot of money in the learning process. It can become a very high tuition for your learning when you can figure out ways to make money with no money to begin with.

Also, there are many ways to make free money with no money online. But that doesn't mean it's easy or quick. It takes a lot of hard work but it's well worth it. And, with enough work on the front end, you can potentially have residual income from your work where you won't have to work again.
