Best Jobs Without a Degree

Sales jobs can be one of the best jobs without a degree a person can get. It can allow you to make a lot of money without you having to go back to school. I've known many successful people in sales jobs that didn't have a college degree.

In fact, in one of the companies I worked in sales, many of the good sales reps did not have a college degree. They too would attest that sales jobs are among the best jobs without a degree.

Of course, college degree helps. But if you don't have one, sales jobs offer you the opportunity to make a lot of money with a degree.

Here are some statistics from the US Bureau of Labor Statistic about sales jobs and educational degrees that back up the fact that sales jobs are the best jobs without a degree:

High school graduate or less: 27%

Some college, no degree: 1%

Associate's degree: 9%

Bachelor's degree: 38%

Graduate degree: 6%

As you can see, sales jobs don't require a degree. Although many with sales jobs have degrees, you can see that a good 27% don't have college degrees. Sales jobs are one of the best jobs without a degree that can make pretty good amount of money.

There aren't many jobs out there where you can make $40,000-$100,000 a year without a bachelor's degree let alone a graduate degree. To get more information on salaries of sales jobs and sales careers, go to Sales Jobs Are Recession Proof.

Sales Jobs Have On-The-Job Training

Many sales jobs have seminars and workshops you attend as training for the sales jobs. Many sales rep also take additional classes in business, economics, and marketing to gain an advantage, but is not necessary in most sales jobs.

In some sales jobs, sales reps will rotate throughout different departments of a company to gain experience and insight into the business and industry. Most sales reps and sales jobs include initiation and training by tagging along with a supervisor or a senior sales rep.

There are also association training opportunities available in certain types of sales jobs. Certified Professional Manufacturers’ Representative (CPMR) or the Certified Sales Professional (CSP), offered by the Manufacturers’ Representatives Education Research Foundation, can be a way to get training and certification in your sales jobs without going back to college.

Sometimes, these trade designations can be more desirable than a bachelor's degree for certain types of sales jobs.

Sales as a Career

No matter what profession you go into, you have to have sales skills to excel and succeed. An accountant needs to have sales skills to get clients. A business owner needs sales skills to get customers. A doctor needs sales skills to get patients.

Whatever you do in life and in business you must have sales skills. Why not just get a sales job to acquire those skills? Especially if you don't have a college degree, sales will give you the opportunities to make a lot of money and to advance in your career. That's what makes it one of the best jobs without a degree to have.
